Season 1 ended with Johnson and Lovibond's characters parting ways, leaving the fate of the titular magazine and its employees in question. Inspired by the story of real-life magazines like Playgirl and Viva, Minx premiered on HBO in March 2022, and quickly garnered fans thanks to richly layered performances from its ensemble cast-and some suitably steamy on-screen nudity. Together they create Minx, the first erotic magazine geared towards a female audience. That is, until she joins forces with Doug Renetti, a pornography publisher played by Spider-Verse star Jake Johnson. The unconventional workplace comedy stars British actress Ophelia Lovibond as Joyce Prigger, a feminist activist who struggles to find a platform in the chauvinist Los Angeles of the '70s.
Minx is officially back for a second season of gender politics, '70s fashion, and smut.
